Challenges Faced by the Youths

Mangochi district is near the lake. Many young girls especially those near the lake get interested in fishermen and then end up being third or fourth wife.

So many people in Mangochi are business people and they do not go far with education as a result most boys migrate to South Africa to find jobs since Malawi lacks job opportunities which lead to poverty. Girls also get married early because of poverty.

Once found pregnant, girls gets expelled from school sometimes just before sitting for their final exams. This shutters their dreams and limit their opportunities.

As such, there is need for government, NGOs and development partners to introduce more boarding schools, so that this problem can be solved.
