The Fault Still Exists In Our Communities

By William Yunus

Often times, we hear that girls are the ones who do not achieve their goals and go further with their education. Yet we hardly hear of their parents or communities contributing to their failure.

Up to now, parents are sending boys to school over girls. To them girls need to get married to rich men who will take care of their family.

Girls need to do chores at home while a boy has to go to school because when he marries he will take care of his family. This is bias and gives discouragement to girls which can lead not to achieve their goals. As a result, we are killing their future and making them feel unimportant.
