Our Environmental Fault

God provided us with the environment. We depend and benefit from environment by getting resources that we use in our everyday life. But not, the environment is being destroyed by our own actions.

We destroy the environment by cutting down trees carelessly in order to settle, farm and burn charcoal. In general, we are practicing deforestation. Despite settling and farming activities, there is also urban development causing deforestation.

Deforestation affects the rate of transpiration which leads to insufficient rainfall, and cause soil erosion which leads to siltation of rivers and lakes, thereby, causing flooding that troubles the people living along the lakes or rivers.

Improper waste disposal is another activity that destroys the environment. It causes pollution of water, land and air. Some wastes are hazardous and disposing them in water can kill aquatic animals.

On land, some disposals contain acids which can increase acidity in soil which can affect crop production. Vehicles, industries and burning wastes containing toxic fumes causes air pollution which can result in global warming and acid rains which is bad for crop production.

We are failing to use the environment in a right way. Later on, we will end up experiencing insufficient rainfall due to deforestation, and water borne diseases like cholera due to improper waste disposal.
