Let's Eradicate Teenage Pregnancies

Many girls in our community get pregnant whilst in school. This is so because of poverty and lack of finances as such they engage themselves in sexual relationships with teachers so that they should be providing them with necessities and the end result is teenage pregnancies and violation of their right to education.

Some culture practices such as initiation ceremonies, force girls into teenage pregnancies. For example, after they have come out from the initiation ceremonies they are told to sleep with boys and the end result pregnancy and they stop school as such their right to education is being violated.

I think teachers and head teachers will be in the group of people to be questioned because they are the ones who protect children when they are at school and they have the power in checking these issues.

Together with parents, teachers and head teachers can come up with solutions to this issue.

Parents are the ones who look after the children and it is their duty to protect the children. Let’s all help each other to educate a girl child.

Let's prevent early pregnancies in our communities.
