My name is Blessings Chirambo, aged 18 and I am a form four student at Mpondas Anglican Secondary. I have been working as a presenter and reporter for Youth out Loud.

So far the programmes  that l did were concerning the rights of children and some of the topics that were addressed are “lets fight against child abuse”, “why the youth involve themselves in risky behavior” and “what should we do to make sure that as many boys and girls are going to school”. It was very great because l talked on behalf of my fellow young people and most of the children miss this opportunity to talk about the issues that are hindering their lives.

Many people believe that speaking is good others not. I have learned through personal experience that public speaking is something that you can build up and am willing to do radio programmes again and will be very dedicated and will apply the best of myself to the task at hand.

Radio programs are very important because a lot of people can be reached for the reason that they have access to radio.

I have gained confidence whenever l want to interview a person and am able to speak in public. So far I have interviewed ten students from Mpondas Secondary school.

I believe that success is not an accident it is hard work and l am working hard so that l should achieve my dream of becoming a journalist one day because l don’t want to rely on newspaper.

World Radio Day is the day that is held on 13th February every year. This day is about celebrating radio, why we love it and why it is important to us.

Finally its time to rise up and shine because Youth Out Loud is here to stay, as youth we have been given a chance to talk about issues that hinder our education and rights, this programme is for us to express our concerns to the district  because if we are not talking nobody  is going to speak for us.
